Trading Technologies participates in numerous philanthropic events, as we desire to give back to the community in which we live and work. TT also supports a Corporate Matching Gifts Program, which enables employees to donate to charities of their choice with TT matching 50% of the employee (donor) amount. By giving back to the community and contributing to the causes that are meaningful to the Company and our employees, TT can facilitate a truly philanthropic environment. TT works with a number of organizations to carry out this important mission, including:
The Chicago Cares organization creates opprotunities for people to give back to the Chicago community through structured group volunteer programs. It works especially well with businesses to provide programs for employees in which to participate, by providing flexible schedules and catering to the broad interests of the participants. Since its founding in 1991, Chicago Cares has organized and managed over 13,500 community service projects and engaged over 100,000 people in them. TT sponsors a team of employees for the Celebration of Service, as well as the Serve-A-Thon.
Christopher House provides services ranging from childcare to classes in English as a second language. The organization primarily serves economically disadvantaged minority families drawn mostly from Chicago's north side.
- TT sponsors an annual Clothing and Back To School Drive to collect clothing and school supplies as well as a literacy book drive.
- TT also donates used and outdated computers to the Christopher House for use in their literacy classroom.
TT collects box tops from participating General Mills products that are delivered to TT's kitchens so that they can be donated to a Chicago Public School in need. Each donated box top is worth ten cents and can be used to fund anything from field trips to computer equipment.
The Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) is a not-for-profit food distribution center working to feed hungry people in Cook County, Illinois. TT employees participate in an annual food drive to benefit the GCFD. In years past, TT participants have exceeded ambitious goals to provide hundreds of pounds of nutritious, non-perishable food for those in need.
TT employees participate in an annual run/walk race through the streets of downtown Chicago and along Chicago's picturesque lakefront. The money raised through this event goes to support various Chicago charities.
PAWS-Chicago is the city’s largest no-kill humane animal organization. The PAWS Organization envisions a no-kill Chicago - a city in which pets are not destroyed just because they are homeless. PAWS believes that animal welfare resources should go solely to saving lives, prevention and education. TT employees participate in the Annual 8K Run for Their Lives/4K walk coupled with a virtual fundraiser for those that want to help but can’t make the race. All registration fees go towards adoption programs and the upkeep of PAWS facilities.
TT regularly donates used printer and laser cartridges to the PetSmart Charities program, which benefits adoption programs and animal welfare agencies that help end euthanasia while promoting healthy relationships between people and pets.
TT regularly donates pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House Pop Tab Collection Program. Each Ronald McDonald House provides a warm and friendly atmosphere where family members of seriously ill children can receive support from staff, volunteers and other families who also have children being hospitalized for extended treatment
In 2006 these programs provided holiday gifts to over 20,000 low-income children from 108 schools, shelters and other non-profit organizations throughout the Chicago area. The money received through the Empty Stocking Fund is used for holiday gifts and other basic needs such as coats and hats. This program allows TT employees to respond to children’s letters to Santa or to donate to the Empty Stocking Fund.
TT donates gently-used cellular phones to the Call to Protect campaign, headed by the Wireless Foundation, to help victims of domestic violence.
