When installing and configuring a TT Gateway, you must be logged into the gateway machine with Window’s Administrator rights.
Pre-installation tasks and responsibilities are divided between two parties:
- The client
- The installer
Both checklists assume the user is familiar with the listed tasks. For additional details on any topic, refer to the appropriate section in this manual or appropriate TT document (for a list of TT titles and subjects, refer to Related Documentation).
Either party can set the time and time zone.
Set the Time and Time Zone
Each TT Gateway runs in a time zone and is time dependent on the exchange to which the gateway connects. You must set this time zone and time. For correct times and time zones, refer to the SAM specific to the TT Gateway you install.
To set the time and time zone:
- In the System Tray, double-click
on the time.
The Date and Time Properties dialog box displays.
- In the Time Zone tab, scroll through the Time Zone list, and click to select .
- If needed, click to select Automatically Adjust Clock for Daylight Saving Changes.
- In the Date & Time tab, in the Time box in the lower, right corner, set the appropriate time.
- Click OK.
Client Task Checklist
Before installing a TT Gateway, the client must perform the following tasks:
Size the TT Gateway server machine.
Provide a static IP address to TT for use by the TT Gateway for TT licensing purposes. The client must also configure the Windows Server with this static address.
Obtain all relevant connectivity information from the exchange to which the TT Gateway will connect.
Identify the Windows Administrator login for the machine onto which TT will install the TT Gateway. If you do not want to give this information to TT for installation purposes, someone from your company must be present during installation to type it during login.
Identify and collect all member, group, and trader login information.
Verify that the TT Gateway connectivity information (i.e., IP addresses, ports, etc.) is correct by actually connecting to the exchange.

Installer Task Checklist
As the installer, you must perform the following tasks:
If you have TT products of Version 7.X already installed on the network, you must obtain the aconfig.xml file from one of the machines that hosts the 7.X software. This can be from any 7.X machine on your network.
Review the Release Notes for the TT Gateway.
Obtain login information:
If the client’s policy does not allow access to trader IDs and passwords, someone who knows them must be available at the time of installation to enter them into the Windows User Authentication System (WUAS). Because the WUAS stores passwords in an encrypted format, TT personnel cannot read them.
Identify what sort of TT software disaster recovery setup you want to implement, if any.
Verify that the license file lists the correct exchange name and static IP address of the TT Gateway. If you are installing additional TT client applications, verify that these are also listed.
If necessary, configure TT machines to communicate across your networks.
