Optional Settings

Overview

Although the [Global] section (7.16.x and lower) and [MEMBER_<text>] section make setting up individual TTP, TTF and TTO sections optional, you can still create an individual TTP, TTF and TTO section which overrides the information contained within the [Global] and [MEMBER_<text>] sections.

Section: [TTP]

Example [TTP] section

[TTP]

UserID=TTP_Root1

UserPassword=Password

AccessIP=208.255.11.109

AccessPort=17024

AccessIPSecondary=208.255.11.101

AccessPortSecondary=17025

This section sets the user ID and password for the Price Server. The BrokerTec Gateway only uses one [TTP] section.

This section contains the following parameters.

[TTP] section parameters

Parameter

Description

UserId

BrokerTec distributes this value and refers to it as the User Name.

UserPassword

BrokerTec distributes this value and refers to it as the User Password.

AccessIP

BrokerTec distributes this value and it identifies the primary IP address that the Gateway uses to connect with the Exchange for market data.

AccessPort

BrokerTec distributes this value and it identifies the primary port that the Gateway uses to connect with the Exchange for market data

AccessIPSecondary

Identifies the secondary IP address that the Gateway uses to connect with the Exchange. If the Exchange does not provide a secondary IP address, comment-out this parameter.

AccessPortSecondary

Identifies the secondary port that the Gateway uses to connect with the Exchange. If the Exchange does not provide a secondary IP address, comment-out this parameter.

Section [TTF]

Example [TTF] section (7.16 or lower)

[TTF]

UserId=TTF_Root1

UserPassword=Password

AccessIP=208.255.11.109

AccessPort=17024

ForceAutoAggress=0

ResubmitOnStartup=0

ResubmitOnSessionDown=1

The [TTF] section configures the Order Server’s fill connection to BrokerTec. Any parameters you configure in this section override the information contained within the [Global] or [MEMBER_<text>] section. You configure the [TTF] section with the following information provided by BrokerTec:

  • The UserID and UserPassword used by the Price Server when connecting to BrokerTec
  • The IP address (AccessIP) used by the Price Server for its price feed
  • The communication port (AccessPort) used by the Price Server for its price feed

The following table contains the available [TTF] section parameters:

[TTF] section parameters

Parameter

Description

UserID

BrokerTec distributes this value and refers to it as the User Name. UserID uses the same format outlined in the [Global] section.

UserPassword

BrokerTec distributes this value and refers to it as the User Password.

AccessIP

Identifies the IP address that the Gateway uses to connect with the Exchange.

AccessPort

Identifies the port that the Gateway uses to connect with the Exchange.

ForceAutoAggress

(7.16 or lower)

Sets a customer sites ability to force auto-aggressive behavior on all orders submitted through a gateway. Available settings are:

  • 1: This sets the auto-aggressive property to On. All orders are sent to the Exchange through auto-aggressive behavior, regardless of how the client submitted their order.
  • 0: This sets the auto-aggressive property to Off. Orders are sent to the Exchange how the client submitted their order.

If this keyword is missing or has an invalid value, the TT Gateway behaves as if it were set to 0.

ResubmitOnStartup

(7.16 or lower)

Sets whether the TT Gateway resubmits held orders after the Order Server recovers from a failure. Available settings are:

  • 1: Working orders are automatically put on hold. On startup the orders are resubmitted as active orders.
  • 0: Removes held orders from the Exchange. The order is not resubmitted; rather it puts them on hold status.

If this keyword is missing or has an invalid value, the TT Gateway behaves as if it were set to 0.

For information on the dynamic between the Order Server connection and traders’ orders at BrokerTec, refer to Connection Failure and Recovery.

ResubmitOnSessionDown

(7.16 or lower)

After a TTO fails and BrokerTec puts its orders on hold, sets that TTO to resubmit those held orders as active when it reconnects to the Exchange. Available settings are:

  • 1: When a TTO fails, that TTO resubmits the orders when it reconnects.

Section [TTO_#]

Example [TTO_#] section

[TTO_1]

UserId=TTO_Root1_05

UserPassword=Password

AccessIP=208.255.11.109

AccessPort=17024

Each [TTO_#] section configures the connection behavior of an Order Router (TTO). Any parameters you configure in this section override the information specified in the [Global] section or [MEMBER_<Member ID>] section. You configure a [TTO_#] section for each membership that uses the BrokerTec Gateway. The maximum number of [TTO_#] sections that can be configures is 25. Configure the [TTO_#] section with the following information provided by BrokerTec:

  • The UserID and UserPassword used by the Order Server when connecting to BrokerTec
  • The IP address (AccessIP) used by the Order Server for its connection to BrokerTec
  • The communication port (AccessPort) used by the Order Server for its connection to BrokerTec

The BrokerTec Gateway does not assign traders to TTOs. Instead, whenever a trader submits an order, the first available TTO takes the order and submits it to BrokerTec. This TTO does not accept additional orders until it receives an order verification receipt from BrokerTec.

TT recommends that you use multiple [TTO_#] sections, as using a small number of TTOs can limit the number of orders you submit to BrokerTec. Because TTOs are not trader-specific, when you run multiple TTOs, a trader can submit additional orders to BrokerTec even if the TT Gateway has not yet received a receipt for previously submitted orders. The maximum number of [TTO_#] sections that can be configured is 25.

The following table contains the available [TTO_#] section parameters:
