TTO Disconnects

Overview

When a TTO disconnect, BrokerTec puts all orders submitted through that particular TTO on hold. To have the BrokerTec Gateway resubmit these held orders when the TTO reconnects to the Exchange, set ResubmitOnSessionDown to 1. If an order was filled after the router disconnects but before it could be put on hold, the BrokerTec Gateway recognizes this and notifies the trader. If you want traders to manually resubmit orders after a TTO disconnect, set ResubmitOnSessionDown to 0.

Whenever a TTO disconnects, it waits 30 seconds and then attempts to reconnect. TTOs wait 30 seconds between reconnection attempts. If a TTO fails to reconnect three consecutive times within a five minute time frame, it shuts down. A shutdown TTO does not restart until the Order Server is stopped and restarted.

Example- Resubmitting Automatically

Workstation A is connected to a BrokerTec Gateway through an Order Server that has ResubmitOnSessionDown set to 1. A TTO disconnects while a trader is submitting orders through it. The orders are put on hold while the disconnected TTO waits 30 seconds and then attempts to reconnect. The held orders are resubmitted when the TTO reconnects to the Exchange. If the TTO fails to reconnect to the BrokerTec Gateway, it shuts down and notifies the trader.

Example- Resubmitting Manually

Workstation A is connected to a BrokerTec Gateway through an Order Server that has ResubmitOnSessionDown set to 0. A TTO disconnects while a trader is submitting orders through it. The orders are put on hold, while the TTO waits 30 seconds and then attempts to reconnect. If the TTO reconnects to the BrokerTec Gateway, the trader must manually resubmit the held orders. If the TTO fails to reconnect to the BrokerTec Gateway, it shuts down and notifies the trader. The trader must manually resubmit the held orders through another TTO.
