Log File Management

The CFE Gateway is designed to erase all of its own log files older than ten days. TT recommends that you delete all log files older than a month on a regular basis. Before deleting them, you can also back up these files if needed for auditing purposes.

Tip
  • You can set up ttclean.ini to automatically delete or archive the log files on your TT Gateway.
  • For information on ttclean.ini, refer to the TT Gateway Architecture System Administration Manual Version 7.X.

Audit File Conversion

The Order Server creates audit files (*.cba files) that contain a variety of order and fill information located in the <root drive>:ttauditfiles directory.

When requested, you must provide a readable copy of the audit files to the CFE. Use the audit_convert.exe program to convert the audit file into a readable copy. You can use this program to either convert all audit files in a directory or to convert a single audit file.

The audit file conversion of the Orders and Trades *.cba files will generate the following files as required by the exchange:

  • <exchange-flavor>_ORDERS_YYYYMMDD.csv
  • <exchange-flavor>_TRADES_YYYYMMDD.csv
  • <exchange-flavor>_ORDERS_<broker name>_YYYYMMDD.csv (X_TRADER ASP)
  • <exchange-flavor>_TRADES_<broker name>_YYYYMMDD.csv (X_TRADER ASP)

For general information on audit files and CFE audit files, refer to Appendix B, System Files in the TT Gateway Architecture System Administration Manual Version 7X.

To convert a single audit file:

  1. Open a Command window.
  2. Type: audit_convert.exe absolutefilename

Where absolutefilename is the path and filename of the audit file you want to convert.

    Example Single Audit File:

    audit_convert.exe c:ttauditfilesCFE-A_2014-10-14.cba /format cfe

  3. To close the Console window, type Exit.

To convert multiple audit files:

  1. Open a Command window.
  2. Type: audit_convert.exe directoryexchange-flavor

    Where:

    • directory is the location of your audit files.
    • Exchange-flavor is the name of the TT Gateway that produced the audit files.

Example Audit Files on a CFE-A Gateway:

    audit_convert.exe c:ttauditfiles CFE-A /format cfe

  3. To close the Console window, type Exit.
