Connection Failure and Recovery
The points of potential systems failure when using the GMEX Gateway include the GMEX Gateway, the exchange host, and all network devices in-between. This chapter’s discussion is restricted to total software and/or hardware failure, its specific impact on GMEX Gateways, and available options for disaster recovery.
Approaches to Failover
GMEX Gateways do not support Order Server failover. If the TT Gateway experiences an Order Server disconnect, all orders continue working at the exchange. Once the Order Server reconnects, the GMEX Gateway resynchronizes the order book with data from the exchange.
You can configure a secondary TT Gateway to support Price Server failover. For information on how to configure this type of component failover, refer to Price Server Failover.
Cancel On Disconnect
By default, all FIX order sessions are configured at the exchange to cancel all orders on all disconnects (graceful and forced). The canceled orders are removed from the TT system.
To change the default behavior and persist working orders at the exchange after a disconnect, you have to contact the exchange and request that they reconfigure their Cancel On Disconnect functionality for your order sessions.
