Connection Failure and Recovery
The points of potential system failure when using the TT LME Gateway include the TT LME Gateway, the exchange host, and all network devices in-between. This chapter’s discussion is restricted to total software and/or hardware failure, its specific impact on TT LME Gateways, and available options for disaster recovery.
Approaches to Failover
Due to limitations from the exchange, TT LME Gateways do not support Order Server failover. If the TT Gateway experiences an Order Server disconnect, the exchange places all working GTD orders in an Inactive state. Upon reconnect, these orders appear as Hold in the X_TRADER® order book. GTC orders remain active and can be filled. In the event of an unexpected disconnect, the exchange may also place GTC orders on Hold. Once the Order Server reconnects, you can use X_TRADER® to resubmit the held orders to the exchange.
You can configure a secondary TT Gateway to support Price Server failover.
