CHICAGO, July 23, 2014 — Trading Technologies International, Inc. (TT), a provider of high-performance professional trading software, today announced the appointment of Robbie McDonnell to EVP Global Sales from VP/Managing Director of Asia/Pacific. McDonnell will relocate from Sydney to TT’s headquarters in Chicago, where he will report directly to CEO Rick Lane and be responsible for leading TT’s worldwide sales operation.

A 16-year TT veteran who has worked in senior-level sales management positions for TT in Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong and London, McDonnell’s strong ties in the global trading community have been instrumental to TT’s success.

“Robbie’s unique perspective and leadership will benefit our customers as they navigate the increasingly complex challenges of trading derivatives on a global scale. He has had a big hand in helping customers in every major region and will be a strong customer advocate in this role,” said Lane.

“While TT is already seen as the leading global brand in professional futures trading software, our next-generation trading platform, simply called TT, will elevate the brand even higher by enabling us to mass distribute our software in ways that were never before possible. I’m thrilled to be moving into this position at the center of the futures trading world as the industry gears up for the next phase of electronic trading,” said McDonnell.

In his most recent role as VP/Managing Director, Asia/Pacific since 2006, McDonnell led TT’s expansion into the region, growing TT’s footprint to include offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney. Under his leadership, TT closed major deals with many global banks, regional futures commission merchants (FCMs), proprietary trading firms and Asia/Pacific exchanges. Revenues from the region now represent a significant portion of the firm’s global sales.

Prior to taking the Asia/Pacific role, McDonnell was Managing Director of TT’s London operation. He first joined TT in 1998 as a member of the original London sales team. McDonnell worked with the City’s major proprietary trading firms and banks to establish TT’s presence there, and he witnessed first-hand the shift from open outcry to screen-based trading. He grew TT’s London office and established TT as a market-leading derivatives solutions provider in London and Europe, a position TT still holds today.

McDonnell, who is a frequent speaker at industry events, was born and educated in Dublin.
