Staff Accountant

Location: US-IL-Chicago

Trading Technologies is looking to add a Staff Accountant to our Chicago office. This position will be part of our Finance team, primarily responsible for all centralized procurement duties, as well as assist in supporting the day-to-day activities of TT’s accounting functions. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an interdepartmental level, supporting processes for the global organization, which includes the US, UK, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Australia and Brazil.



  • Manage the internal Purchase Order request approval process and fulfillment by vendors
  • Ensure procurement process adheres to established internal controls
  • Responsible for company AMEX charge activity, reporting and monthly reconciliations
  • Track Capital Expenditure purchases

Travel and Expense

  • Internal review/audit of employee expense reports to ensure expenses are consistent with the Company’s travel and expense policy

Billing and Licensing

  • Reconcile daily cash receipts
  • Process daily customer license orders in accordance with customer contracts and billing terms
  • Assist with monthly customer billing process
  • Reconcile monthly credit card deposits and credits


  • Assist with month-end reporting, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Reconcile daily cash bank balance and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Process fixed asset purchases
  • Serve as backup for Accounts Payable activities
  • Assist with annual global audits
  • Adhoc projects and duties as they arise



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 2+ years industry work experience (or new graduate with strong internship experience)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Advanced skills in Google Sheets desired
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.  Role will require interaction with multiple departments and external vendors and customers
  • Extremely detail oriented with the ability to quickly address and rectify any errors
  • Exceptional organizational and follow through abilities
  • Ability to successfully manage and complete multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus
  • Experience with CRM, preferably Salesforce a plus
