Human Resources Payroll Specialist


Trading Technologies creates professional trading software, infrastructure and data solutions for a wide variety of users, including proprietary traders, brokers, money managers, CTAs, hedge funds, commercial hedgers and risk managers. In addition to providing access to the world’s major international exchanges and liquidity venues via its TT® trading platform, TT offers domain-specific technology for cryptocurrency trading and machine-learning tools for real-time trade surveillance.

Position Summary

Our Human Resources team is looking for an HR Payroll Specialist to join our global company. In this role you will own the function of US payroll and maintenance of our HRIS. Additionally you will manage HR-related compliance matters; assist with recruiting as needed; administer our stock program; and handle other Generalist ad hoc projects. Candidates should be task oriented; possess a positive attitude; desire for a long-term HR career; and excellent interpersonal and communication.

What Will You Be Involved With?

  • What you can expect to  learn within 3 months:
    • Working knowledge of Workday HRIS functions, including ownership of Workday portals: tax, community, funding and customer support
    • Develop a general understanding of the following:
      • TT’s payroll process and entry-level initiation and reconciliation of US payroll
      • Human Resources processes and company programs
      • Global handbook policies and all benefit plan descriptions
      • US and international payroll processes and statutory regulations and time off/leave plans
      • TT Security policies and procedures, and how it interacts with HR functions
    • Act as back-up and assist with recruiting efforts for technical and nontechnical roles
  • What you can expect to be responsible for within 6 months:
    • Coordinate semi-monthly payroll processing with limited oversight
    • Build and run reports through HRIS
    • Oversee international relocations
    • Manage employee handbook updates and compliance
    • Oversee security audits for staff across the organization
    • Administer internal stock program, including processing grants and exercises
    • Develop a general understanding of immigration practices and procedures
    • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees
    • Collaborate with HR team in advancing programs such as: anti-harassment training, diversity, inclusion and equality
    • Assist in tax audits as necessary
  • What you can expect to own and continually expand upon by the end of the first year:
    • Complete autonomy in running the payroll process for US, and serve as backup for international payroll
    • Make suggestions to advance existing payroll processes for efficiency
    • Partner with Human Resources colleagues to continually bolster and expand upon programs across the organization

Qualifications & TT Culture

  • What You Bring to the Table:
    • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred, but not required
    • CPP/APA, PHR or other HR certification preferred, but not required
    • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 2 years’ experience with full-cycle payroll processing, preferably in a fast-paced company within the FinTech industry
    • Knowledge of international employment laws and regulations a plus
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and, ideally, G-Suite (Google) applications
    • Knowledge of Workday preferred
    • Strong knowledge of HR laws and an understanding of state and federal employment laws and regulations required
    • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and use independent judgment
    • Proven success at excelling in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment with adaptability to change
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills problem solving skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and organize work ability to prioritize and organize work.
