What You Will Be Doing

• Program daily in Java and/or Scala
• Read and process large datasets from flat files, streaming data sources, and APIs
• Write unit tests and demonstrate full ownership of code quality
• Work in Python, pandas, sci-kit-learn and utilize data visualization libraries
• Write spark jobs to process large datasets and produce insights
• Work with various model types, such as classifier, regression, unsupervised, and time-series models
• Participate in design discussions and code review sessions
• Create high-level and detailed design documents
• Explain and communicate the math and logic of the work to non-technical audiences

What You Bring to the Table

• Excellent Java programming skills with experience developing multithreaded distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as H2O.ai, and Spark preferred
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and streaming data platforms
• Experience with Spark and Spark Streaming
• Experience developing web services using the REST approach
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud Technologies
• Testing framework experience with JUnit or other frameworks
• Experience developing on large-scale data systems
• Basic understanding of the trading industry, data security, and privacy practices
• Familiarity with agile/iterative development methodologies
