Harris Brumfield assumes role as Chairman of the Board

CHICAGO, February 5, 2014 – Trading Technologies International, Inc. (TT), a privately held global provider of high-performance professional trading software, announced today that Rick Lane, who has served as Chief Technology Officer since March 2012, has been named CEO effective immediately. Harris Brumfield, majority owner and CEO for the past 11 years, remains with the company as Chairman of the Board.

“Rick is a leader with the unique combination of exceptional technology expertise, a keen understanding of trading, and most importantly, a genuine commitment to our people and clients,” said Brumfield. Adding, “As we prepare to celebrate our 20th anniversary in May, I believe Rick is the right person to lead us to the next level.”

On being named CEO, Lane commented, “Harris is a trading visionary who is incredibly passionate about the futures markets and the economic value they provide. He has set a very high bar with respect to integrity, commitment to excellence, and devotion to our end-user results. I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead this company.”

Lane added, “Having been at the forefront of electronic trading for the past 20 years, I believe we are poised to lead the industry into a new phase of innovation and transformation. While we are intensely focused on our customers and their current needs, we are also looking forward and building what they’ll need beyond tomorrow. I am very enthusiastic about the future of TT and our industry.”

Lane first joined TT in June 2010 when TT acquired the company he cofounded, TickIt Trading Systems. After leaving TT for Google in 2011, he returned to TT in March 2012 as CTO. At TickIt, Lane was the architect of ADL® (Algo Design Lab), the trading industry’s first visual programming platform. ADL, which allows professional traders to rapidly design, test and deploy low-latency trading algorithms without writing a single line of code, is now fully integrated into TT’s flagship product, X_TRADER® Pro. Lane graduated with a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Georgia Tech in 2003.
