Does the server need to be recycled?
You do not need to recycle the FMDS server regularly. However, all Windows machines may need to be recycled from time to time. Be aware that FMDS is capturing real-time market data. If the machine needs to be recycled, the best time to do so is when markets are closed. If you must recycle on a weekday, schedule the restart during the time your contracts are least active. (E.g., for CME, the Globex maintenance window is from 16:30 - 16:45 Central Standard Time.)
How do you determine what the Service number is for an installed FMDS?
The Service number is one of many properties visible from the Connection tab on the FMDS Management Console. Refer to Managing Your FMDS Server.
Alternatively, you can use your Windows Administrative Tools:
To determine the Service number:
- From your desktop, navigate to your Control Panel.
- Double-click the Administrative Tools.
- Double-click Services.
- Scroll to the TT FMDS Responder and look at the Path to executable field.
You have successfully determined the service number.
