Windows User Authentication System (WUAS)

Guardian and Guard Server use an authentication system that interfaces with the Windows User Authentication System (WUAS) on each TT Gateway. You must enter the user information of all traders who will be accessing a TT Gateway either into the Windows User Authentication System on that particular gateway machine or into a Domain Controller (DC).

Updating the WUAS is a continuous process; you must update trader information when it changes, and add new trader information as needed. If you fail to do so, traders might not be able to trade through that gateway on the exchange.

Domain Controllers

Instead of entering login information repeatedly on multiple TT Gateways, you can enter all login information into a Domain Controller on your network. In this manner, whenever a TT Gateway receives a login request, the login information is compared to a domain controller. If the login information is legitimate, the trader gains access to the TT Gateway and hence the exchange.

If you use Primary and Backup Domain Controllers for redundancy, enter the user information for all traders only into the Primary Domain Controller (PDC) (the Backup Domain Controller (BDC) automatically mirrors this information). As long as these TT Gateways are a part of the same domain as the Domain Controller, you do not have to enter trader information into each TT Gateway. Guardian will refer to the WUAS on the PDC and BDC.

TT recommends that you create a redundant environment by setting up multiple Domain Controllers that replicate the Active Directory structure within the logical site. Thus, if one Domain Controller fails, traders can still login and trade normally.
