When we set out to build the trading infrastructure for the TT platform several years ago, our goal was to engineer a network of colocated data centers that would provide our customers with an easier way to access the global markets—no matter where our customers are based—and achieve superior execution performance. While many would say we’ve already achieved this goal, it’s really a moving target. Technology doesn’t stand still, so there’s always something new that we can leverage to further enhance our offering.

Crypto. TT. And FREE.* Now that’s a combo worth writing about!
You can now trade cryptocurrencies for free through what we believe is the world’s greatest trading platform. Traders have been asking us for this functionality, and I’m excited to bring it to market. Yes, any exchange trading commission fees still apply, but we will charge no fees to use TT software. Here’s the scoop on that, with a little background to start.
As we hope you have now heard, Trading Technologies has launched connectivity to an important new asset class, spot cryptocurrencies! For TT, this represents a move into a marketplace that caused us to rethink the end-user experience so we could offer the cryptocurrency trading platform we would want to use. We are proud to be partnering with Coinbase’s GDAX exchange as our initial exchange connection into cryptocurrency trading.

I recently saw an industry article with the theme “how I would be thinking about bitcoin if I were to put my old broker hat on.” This was a very timely perspective as Cboe/CFE and CME are launching their bitcoin offerings within the next couple weeks. As the VP of Cryptocurrencies at Trading Technologies and an avid cryptocurrency participant, I’ve been thinking about the same from a trader’s perspective.
